Ralph P. Goldsticker Jr., May 25, 2025

Ralph P. Goldsticker, Jr. passed away surrounded by his family on May 25, 2025 at the age of 103. Born on October 26, 1921, to Ralph P. and Henrietta Goldsticker, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Helen C. Goldsticker.
Ralph was the dear brother of the late Lois (Sandford) Leipman, and a devoted father to Larry (Andi), Ralph (Dr. Susan Jeiven), and Robert (Cathy) Goldsticker. He was a proud grandfather of Julie, Michael (Sarah), Daniel (Camille), and Rachel Goldsticker, and Laura (Zach) Rosenblatt; and great-grandfather to William, Charles, and Kathryn Goldsticker, and Harry Rosenblatt. He was also a beloved uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
During World War II, Ralph served as a bombardier and navigator on a B-17 bomber with the 8th Air Force, flying 35 combat missions over France and Germany, including two on D-Day. For his bravery and service, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, five Air Medals, the French Legion of Honor, the French Jubilee of Liberty medal, and a medal from the Russian government. He concluded his military service as a captain during the Korean War.
Ralph spent 48 years in the children’s clothing industry, selling to retail stores throughout Missouri, Illinois, and Kansas. He was a dedicated leader in his field, serving as president of Fashion Exhibitors of America, and regional vice president of the National Association of Women’s and Children’s Wear as well as national president of Pi Tau Pi social fraternity .
In retirement, Ralph gave generously of his time, volunteering at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Siteman Cancer Center, and BJC West County Hospital. He was an avid reader and enjoyed playing bridge with friends.
Over the last decade of his life, Ralph shared his World War II experiences with audiences of all ages. In 2024, he was honored as one of 67 WWII veterans selected by American Airlines for an “Honor Flight” to France commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day. He was among a select few veterans chosen to meet President Joe Biden, to whom he famously offered political advice.
Funeral service Tuesday, May 27th, 1:00 PM at Congregation Temple Israel. No visitation prior to the funeral service. Interment follows at New Mt. Sinai Cemetery.
